Maxx and I love baking. Cakes, cookies, meals you name it we
love it.
I think baking is a great way to have fun together and also
learn. Maxx's helps with the measuring, stirring and his favourite
part is cracking the eggs.
Maxx and I were recently sent the 'Pretty In Pink' Valentine Cupcake Kit from
the CakeCraft Shop which contains 2 x 4 cavity pink cupcake boxes
with inserts, pack of 75 multi heart cupcake cases with cute flower design on
base and pack of 10 red & pink double heart icing decorations. Priced at
£6.45.
I really like the kit and found it to be very well made,
easy to use and fantastic value for money.
We started off our baking day by measuring out all of our
ingredients, adding them to the bowl then mixing. We then divided the
mixture between 8 cupcake cases and put them in the oven until golden
brown.
This is the part Maxx dislikes, the waiting for the cakes to
cool down. This usually takes 10-20 minutes and then the real fun begins the
decorating.
We were planning on having pink cupcakes however after
searching the cupboard I couldn't find the pink colouring so we decided upon
orange. Maxx and I iced the cupcakes then Maxx had the job of putting the
hearts on the cupcakes. He took great pride in making sure they were on in the
middle.
After we had finished decorating the cupcakes we set about
making the cupcake boxes. I thought we would have to slot
things together and that the box might be quite flimsy however I was
pleasantly surprised. The boxes are very easy to make you just lift up the
edges of the box, it pretty much makes itself! The boxes are very good quality
and look great they really are a great finishing touch.
Maxx and I kept a box and some hearts and cases so we
can make more cupcakes for Valentine’s Day but shh it's a surprise! We are
aiming to make the cakes look a bit more professional, we shall see how that
works out.
A bit like these we hope!
