The Body Collector Book - Frank Hinks

The

Body

   Collector

Maxx loves story time. He has a lot of books and goes through phases of having a favourite book which he will have read to him night after night. When we were offered the chance to review The Body Collector by Frank Hinks I was really looking forward to reviewing it. Although it is currently too old for Maxx it is something I know he will enjoy in the coming years.

The Body Collector is the 15th book in the Ramion collection and perhaps the most controversial. The Body Collector is a great book which will be loved by both children and adults.

The story follows Charlie Stench - The Body Collector who collects bodies and turns the heads into evil floating skulls. Charlie sold a skull to Griselda the witch, however she is very unhappy as her pet skull Boris is not evil at all. Griselda sets about trying to get a replacement skull who will carry out evil deeds, but she ends up getting more than she bargained for! Griselda unleashes some Globerous Ghosts, Mystic Mummies, Venomous Vampires and 5 Scary Scots playing bagpipes! The unleashed creatures try to attack Julius, Alexander and Benjamin three adventurous brothers. Luckily they have a few tricks up their sleeves to get rid of the evil creatures. Nose picking, face pulling and muddy hands are all sure fire ways of destroying them, with a little help from Scooey-Looey the rabbit and Snuggle the cat.

The Body Collector is a fun book that will make you laugh and will keep children engaged until the end, you won't be able to put it down! I love the bright, fun illustrations in the book which helps bring the story to life.

The recommended age range for The Body Collector is 7/8 years old. I think the book is perfect for that age range as it is long enough for them to really get into the story but not too long that they will lose interest. I can't wait until Maxx is a little older so we can enjoy the book together.

The Body Collector is a hardback book and is available from Amazon.co.uk currently priced at £11.69.
