OXO Good Grips Hand-Held Mixer and Mixing Bowl

Most of you will be aware of my love of baking, I am not claiming to be the best cook, far from it. I once used water instead of eggs and thought it would work, yes I was that bad and quite young in my defence.

Thankfully since then my skills have improved and I now have a love of baking.

I was recently sent two items from OXO's Good Grips range which I hoped would come in handy in the kitchen. OXO sent me a Hand-Held Mixer and a lovely Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl.

The bowl is very sleek in design and would look good in anyone's kitchen.

The first thing that struck me about it was the weight, you can tell from the look and feel that it is a quality bowl and made to last. The bowl has high sides to stop the content spilling over the sides when using a whisk, it works really well and we didn't spill a drop which is unusual for us!

The Bowl is made from stainless steel which means it won't become discoloured or start smelling due to ingredients you use. It also has a rubber anti slip base which makes it much easier to use, even Maxx was able to use the bowl without it slipping and he is quite heavy handed. I really like the anti slip feature and think it makes baking much easier.

The bowl has a capacity of 2.8 litres which is perfect for us. We have marinated chicken in it, made angel delight and cakes. The bowl is also dishwasher safe.

There are other sizes available, they all nest together for easy storage which is essential with our kitchen.

I was really looking forward to trying the hand-held mixer as I have always used a normal whisk.

The Good Grips Hand-Held Mixer is very smart and easy to operate. The gears have been cleverly concealed to give a nice finish to the mixer and make it easier to keep clean.

The mixer is very easy and smooth to use and does a really good job at creating a smooth mixture. You can see in the photos above that it has done a good job of blending the mixture, it took around 1-2 minutes of mixing to get a smooth lump free finish.

The base detaches from the top of the mixer by pressing the button, this allows for easy cleaning. You can also remove the beaters easily to clean. The top and beaters are also dishwasher safe.

The mixer has a comfortable non-slip handle and turning knob which means your hand doesn't keep slipping off even when it is covered in mixture. It is easy enough for a child to operate which is a bonus as Maxx loves getting involved in the kitchen and likes to be helpful, usually by making a mess!

The mixing bowl has an RRP of £20 and the hand-held mixer has an RRP of £14 I think the price if really good for the quality of products.

So would I recommend the Good Grips products? YES without a doubt. I have found both products to be fantastic quality, they go above and beyond what you would expect from similar products.

I have my eye on a few more OXO goodies for our kitchen and will be sure to let you know all about them.

*I was sent a hand-held mixer and mixing bowl for the purpose of this review. I always give an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
